Imprints

Imprints are small, magitech capsules infused with essence to transform someone in a specific way. Each is about palm-sized, often inscribed with symbols showing its intended effect.

Crafting a stable imprint is extremely difficult. Licensed Forgers train for years, and their work is tightly regulated. Illegal and counterfeit imprints exist, but they are often unstable and dangerous.

Imprints can be:

• Generic (reshape into a new species)
• Specific (alter a single trait such as fur colour, eye colour, tail length, etc.)
• Modifying (adjust an existing trait, like moving bat wings from arms to shoulders)

Examples include:

• Change fur colour to pink
• Change species to fox
• Replace a tail with another species
• Alter body proportions
• Adjust anatomy (including adding or removing features)

Unstable or poorly forged imprints may eventually lead to Imprint Drift
